frequently asked questions

What can I expect for my first appointment?

Please expect to spend approximately 1 hour in our office for your child’s first visit. It will consist of a review of your child’s medical and dental histories, including a review of your child’s diet and nutrition. This will be followed by a comprehensive dental exam and any necessary dental images.

A professional dental cleaning and fluoride application is also performed at this visit. The information we gather will allow us to recommend the best options for your child’s oral health care.

Along with traditional dental care, we offer treatment with nitrous oxide and complete oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia in an outpatient surgery center.

If your child is 3 or under we will do what we call a “knee-to-knee” examination
where the child sits on a parent’s lap while the doctor examines his or her teeth. It is an introductory method to help children get comfortable in their new dental home.

What are your office hours?

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. To schedule an appointment, please call 420-2525. For your convenience, we confirm your child’s dental visit the day before the appointment.

Please call the office if your child has suffered a dental injury or is experiencing a toothache. We will be available to respond to your concerns. In case of a dental emergency after hours, we have contact information on our voice mail for the on-call doctor.

What are your financial arrangements?

Our practice accepts cash, personal checks, VISA, MasterCard and most forms of dental insurance. We are preferred providers for Ameritas, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Delta Dental. If you have a dental benefit plan, please bring your insurance information with you. We appreciate payment at the time of the visit. Our administrative staff will be happy to provide information and answer questions about fees, financial arrangements and insurance coverage.
